Installation
SpeedySteeds Desktop runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Getting the Installer
Download the installer for your platform from your online profile at speedysteeds.com .
Running the Installer
Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen prompts. The process is straightforward - accept the defaults unless you have a specific reason to change the installation directory.
After Installation
Once the installer completes, launch SpeedySteeds Desktop using the shortcut created on your desktop or in your applications menu.
On first launch, the application will:
- Create its local SQLite database for storing all your data
- Create a
backup/directory for automatic backups - Prompt you to activate your license
- Walk you through the first-run wizard
SpeedySteeds automatically backs up your database each time the application starts. Backups are stored in the backup/ directory alongside the database file.
Data Storage
All data (riders, horses, shows, results) is stored locally in a SQLite database on your machine. There is no cloud dependency for core functionality - the application works fully offline. Web features like pre-registration and live results require an internet connection and an active subscription.
